Chekkutty: The Beacon of Resilience Chekutty is a mascot of the emerging Keralam, being rebuilt through our solidarity, resilience and beauty of hearts despite some of the stains and scars that will remain in our lives.
Chekkutty has scars.Chekkutty has stains.
But Chekkutty represent each one of us who survived the floods.
At the flood devastated Chendamangalam weaving units, the only options for the weavers were to burn their severely damaged and soiled stock which couldn’t be fixed even by dry cleaning. Then the idea of creating Chekutty dolls with that stock came in.
In the day of Kerala Piravi NSS 602 Unit of MESCE is joining the Kerala-wide initiative to restore the livelihood of the Chendamangalam Weaving Units that suffered huge loss during flood by making Chekutty Dolls using old flooded cloths.
Come and Join with Chekutty on Nov 1st at College Auditorium
